This is a real story of a young graduate of University of Lagos (Uniag) girl who passed away just few weeks ago – may her gentle soul rest in peace. Amen!
It could teach you a thing or two. Endeavor to share this piece with your friends and family after reading.
The name of the cute lady in question is Bimbo. She was hit by a car at Lekki on her way to work at Victoria Island 3 Thursdays ago. She was a staff with MTN before her sad demise.
She had a boy friend named Hassan, (a Ghanaian) banker who was recently transferred to Lekki. Both of them were true lovers. She spent half of the day and most nights talking with Hassan on her phone.
Bimbo’s family knew about their relationship. Hassan was very close to Bimbo’s family in spite of the tribal differences….just imagine their love!
Before she passed away at LUTH, she told her friends “If I pass away, please bury me with my cell phone”. She also passed on her last wishes to her parents as well.
After her death at LUTH, the attendants couldn’t carry her body to the mortuary. A lot of them tried to do so but surprisingly, they could not.
The confused and obviously shocked Doctors and nurses had to call a renowned priest from SangoTedo (names withheld for security reasons) who had the gift of communicating with the dead.
On arrival, after being briefed of the circumstances on ground, he sprinkled some salt and water on the body, did some incantations, then started speaking to himself slowly.
Few minutes into his weird dialogue with the lifeless body of Bimbo, he said “this girl is missing something”.
At that point, late Bimbo’s friends told them about her intention to be buried with her phone.
The hospital management asked them to bring a coffin, and then they opened it and placed her phone inside the casket. After that had been done, moving the coffin became possible, hence they moved it away nice and easy.
Everyone was shocked – of course if you were there, you would have been dazed too!
Three (3) days later, which was Bimbo’s birthday, Hassan visited Bimbo’s house (at Lekki) with gifts only to be hit with the news of her death.
Hassan could not believe the story because he just spoke to Adobea the previous day.
To prove the whole family wrong, Hassan pulled out his phone and tried calling Bimbo’s phone again in their presence.
Behold, the phone rang much to the surprise of the crowd that had already gathered, and Bimbo picked up (as usual) and they started chatting.
The disturbed crowd quickly sent for the priest (the one from SangoTedo) on behalf of Bimbo’s family, to come and intervene.
When the Priest arrived and had prayed for 5 hours, it was revealed that “MTN is everywhere you go”.
What a day!
