To further assist in the alleviation of their sufferings, repentant militant Ateke Tom and talented Nollywood star, Yemi Blaq recently visited some camps dedicated to flood victims in Rivers and Bayelsa States, respectively and donated food items and other relief materials.
Tom who was represented by his nephew, Richard Akinaka alongside Blaq, personally distributed the relief materials worth millions of Naira to the embattled flood victims in Ahaoda East Camp, Port Harcourt, Rivers State and BDGF camp, Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.
While speaking on behalf of Tom, Akinaka, disclosed that the ex militant would still visit to donate more relief materials to further alleviate their sufferings at both camps soon.
“This visits has also cemented a desire to form a foundation that is targeted at alleviating the suffering that affects the common man and empowering people from different age groups”, said Tom.
The relief materials donated to both camps include: 100 bags of rice, beans, garri and toiletries.
Also speaking, Blaq, who was overwhelmed with emotions throughout their visits said: “Life doesn’t offer many second chances and its always a pleasure to be part of an opportunity to give back to under privileged or disadvantaged people. The reward of the smiles on their faces and the joy in their hearts are immeasurable.”
