A South African court this morning convicted the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry
Okah, of masterminding twin car bombings during Nigeria's 50th
independence celebrations in October 2010 that killed twelve people and
injured several others.
He was also found guilty of masterminding the two explosions in Warri in March 2010.
Henry Okah was found guilty on all counts and faces a minimum sentence of life in prison.
